The Future On Tap Now!
The reverse osmosis process was originally developed as a method of producing pure water for kidney dialysis machines. For the past fifty years, its uses have expanded in many diverse areas as scientists and water treatment engineers discovered its amazing versatility, its comparatively low cost, and its predictable reliable performance. From the drinking water that is extracted from the sea for cruse ships and even for large coastal communities, to the pure water that is needed for laboratory experiment and countless industrial applications, reverse osmosis has provided the answer.

That predictable reliable performance and low operating cost are also the qualities that make R/O the best choice for home drinking water production.

How Does It Work?
The heart of the R/O process is a semi-permeable plastic membrane. It looks at first glance like a roll of kitchen wrap. But this plastic material is much more sophisticated - it is designed to pass water molecules through its layers, but almost nothing else. The water enters at one end of the membrane roll and by the action of your household water pressure, part of that water is squeezed through the layers of material, into the centre delivery core, and from there, into a pressurized storage tank. - almost completely pure water.

But that is only half the story. The rest of the water - the part that did not get squeezed into the core - exits at the other end of the membrane roll and is flushed down the drain. This stream carries with it all the contaminates that have been separated from the pure stream. The membrane is constantly being flushed. There is no build-up of trapped particles as there is with standard drinking water filters, and a materials failure will not result in downloading of contaminates as sometimes happens when filters trap without flushing.
